Enrollment Procedures
J.M. Hanks Early College High School has an open-admission policy for students who live within the Hanks HS attendance area or who have an approved transfer application. All 8th grade students at Hanks Middle School are given the opportunity to apply to J.M. Hanks Early College High School in the spring. Students can use the link at www.yisd.net to complete the application to J.M. Hanks Early College High School.
All students must meet the following admission requirements:
Students must live in the JMHECHS attendance area or have an approved transfer application to YISD.
Submit a completed application to the middle school counselor or to the JMHECHS office.
Participate in an in-person interview with a JMHECHS administrator.
Meet the application deadline.

Recruitment for J.M. Hanks Early College High School
J.M. Hanks Early College High School staff visit Hanks Middle school for student and parent presentations every year. Additionally, we visit Alicia Chacon International School for parent night each year.

Lottery System
J.M. Hanks Early College High School can accept up to 125 students. In the event that more than 125 qualified students apply, a lottery system will be employed to select the 125 cohort members.
